Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

About Troop 15

Troop 15 is chartered by The Jewish War Veterans, Fred Robbins Post 142.  Troop 15 has been based in Stamford, CT, for almost 75 years. Troop 15 is dedicated to carrying on its long tradition of helping scouts hone their outdoor skills while developing strong leadership abilities and instilling in them the values of scouting. In Troop 15 we do more than just camp and hike, we actively encourage scouts to become well rounded individuals, active leaders in their community, and to aspire to the ideals of the scout law.
The Scout Law:
A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

Boy Scouts of America

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For over a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

With more than 130 Merit Badges—from Archery and Art to Welding and Wilderness Survival—Scouting is the ultimate form of learning by doing. Boy Scouts explore their interests and improve their skills while working toward Scouting’s highest rank: Eagle. By first imagining, planning then doing their own service projects, Boy Scouts learn the value of hard work, and experience the thrill of seeing it pay off. Add in outdoor adventures, hiking and camping, and Scouting gives boys all the experience they need to become men.

How to Join Troop 15

Boys between the ages of 11-17 are eligible to join scouting. Boys who are interested in joining the troop are encouraged to come to a meeting where they can learn more about the troop and scouting at large. A meeting will also allow them to meet the scouts in the troop, some of whom the boys often know from school or activities around town.
